Mission and Vision Statements
 
Mission Statement:
SMA endeavors to develop beneficial relationships between sport marketing professionals and academicians through expansion of the field's body of knowledge and multiple forums for professional interaction.
 
Vision Statement:
The Sport Marketing Association (SMA) is established to develop a mutually beneficial relationship between professional practitioners and academicians engaged in the business of marketing sport. The Association's fundamental focus will be to develop and expand the body of knowledge in the sport marketing field, disseminating the resulting research findings and market-oriented solutions via mass as well as targeted media sources, internal and external to the Association. Secondarily, the Association will provide a forum for professional interaction among practicing sport marketers, sport marketing academicians, and students dedicated to this sport industry segment. The Association strives to include all members of the professional sport marketing community that seek to impact future developments within the academic discipline and the field of sport marketing.
