Earlier, Mark created SPORTS CAREERS, an industry-wide educational program designed to help qualified and interested individuals develop a career path and has been credited with establishing the career development movement in sports. In 1990, he successfully financed the business through the ownership group of the Phoenix Suns, led by Jerry Colangelo, which was later sold to the Franklin Covey Corporation and established as a job board on CBS Sportsline.com. Later, Mark established SportsJobs.com, a career management website that was the exclusive career development and jobs partner of ESPN.com.

His client list includes members of the Sporting Goods Manufacturers’ Association (SGMA), the National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA), the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), many Professional Teams, Leagues and Sports Marketing Organizations, as well as several leading Corporate Empires in Sports.

At the age of 23, he started his own sporting goods sales agency and helped build the annual sales volume to over $100 million for two of the nation’s leading manufacturers’ rep firms. Mark’s long list of sports marketing projects range from special event staffing for ProServ, IMG and the Fiesta Bowl to the coordination of the training and placement program for the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues (NAPBL) at its annual Baseball Winter Meetings.

A graduate of Bowling Green State University majoring in Journalism and Business Administration, he has written over 150 articles and made over 150 radio, television and speaking appearances, including two years as co-host of the Sports Club’s Career Hour on the Business Radio Network.

Mark is the founder of the Maricopa County Sports Authority Student Athlete Leadership Conference, Advisory Board Member for the Arizona State University MBA Sports Business Program and helped develop the Young President’s Council for the Sporting Goods Manufacturers’ Association (SGMA).
